I remember the first time I had one of these turkey burgers and how fresh the cilantro tasted. When I moved to Seattle, a whole new world of food and adventures opened up for me. My mother was never a great cook, so when I moved out west I started learning about food and cooking. It has been a passion for me ever since.
I mixed the cilantro in with the ground turkey, along with some spices and diced red onion. I like to serve these burgers on a fresh bun with garlic aioli, it is absolutely delicious.
If you can’t find garlic aioli, it is easy to put together. Simply combine 3/4 cup mayonnaise with three cloves minced garlic, two tablespoons of lemon juice, a 1/2 teaspoon of salt and black pepper. Mix it well and refrigerate until needed. It is the perfect finishing touch for your burger.

- Place the first six ingredients in a large bowl and mix together well. It is best to use your hands to mix the burger mix together.
- Divide into 3 equal parts and form patties. I put the burger mix into an English muffin ring, it made perfect, uniform burger patties.
- You can either cook these on the grill, or in the oven on the low broil setting. I made them both ways and they came out perfect both ways.
- Cook until the juices run clear.
- You can top them with the vegan cheese of your choice, if you like. I used vegan smoked Gouda cheese for the burger in the photo.
- Serve on a fresh roll spread with garlic aioli and finished with the toppings of your choice.
