Banana, Strawberry and Chocolate Freezer Pops

In our home, we have a host of food allergies and sensitivities. There is Celiac, lactose intolerance as well as wheat, food dye and peanut allergies. Having a home with these challenges has made purchasing frozen treats and freezer pops difficult. These freezer pops were my answer to my children’s many requests for summer time snacks.

I decided that it had to be easier and definitely less stressful to make treats at home than to try and navigate unknown ingredients at the store and take any risks with my family. I found that a blender, a few simple ingredients and a mold is all that I need to make delicious, natural treats. Dairy free, no added sugar or coloring make these an easy, welcome treat for kids of all ages. And everyone in our family can enjoy them without worry.

But would they pass the taste test? With no bright wrappers or neon colors to grab their attention, my children were pretty skeptical when I pulled out the molds out of the freezer. But, because they are always good sports about trying everything that I make, they made the sacrifice and tasted all the pops that I made.

Even my picky teenage son said they were delicious. I think he was really surprised.

And then he asked me how soon I would be making them again. I think they passed the test.
